February’s competition was repetition, which isn’t as easy as it sounds, the specific definition is that the image should contain elements that repeat through the image, similar shapes or similar sized objects or similar coloured objects repeating without it being an abstract. The railway tracks I took specifically for this Continue Reading

January Print Club Competition – Open
An open competition is a hard one to select entries for, will you be competing against portraits, abstracts, still life, it could be anything. I generally choose images that I’ve recently taken or that I’ve enjoyed editing or like as an image and don’t think it will fit another subject Continue Reading

Both of these photos were taken at the Organ Pipes National Park in Victoria. Located on the outskirts of Melbourne not far from the airport, just off the Calder Freeway, near Calder Park Raceway. It is a most interesting location, some stunning geological formations. I wasn’t using a macro lens, Continue Reading

April, May and June Club Competition Entries

Avalon Airshow 2023
I spent the Friday at the Airshow taking a lot of photos. Approximately 1600 photos. Unfortunately my inexperience of taking high speed aircraft meant that I didn’t get a lot of photos that could even be considered average. Thankfully, through luck mainly, I was able to get some stunning shots Continue Reading
Recent Club Competition Entries
I’ve been neglecting this blog, I once again plan to try and post something at once or twice a month. I’ve recently presented on a couple of topics for my local photography club and plan to look at converting those into blog posts at some point. January Club Competition Entries Continue Reading
Steamrail Lal Lal Shuttles
May 2022, Steamrail were running shuttles from Ballarat towards Lal Lal, stopping just short of the station before returning to Ballarat as part of Ballarat’s Heritiage Festival. A Melbourne Photography Excursions group meetup was organised and these were my favourite photos. Photos were edited with Lightroom for iPad. On the Continue Reading
